A hashtag is a type of marker that is used digitally in order to identify the specific theme or content of an image and group those in one location. But when multiple images contain the same hashtag, this does not mean that the objects on the images are related in physical space as well.

For example, Nike of Samothrace stands physically reproduced in multiple places, geographically spread across the globe. In the physical world, these reproductions will never meet. However, they are already in the same digital space: Under the hashtag #wingedvictoryofsamothrace. Therefore, a re-construction derived from its virtual archive (i.e. the hashtag) is then a representation of the digital version of the statue, not one of the physical.

Here presents a collection of Greek sculptures, each with their own intriguing relation to their 'original' and reproductions. Shared is their popularity in contemporary culture and a widely spread representation online. The collection of fragmented sculptures stands together as 'online originals';  the original digital versions of virtual copies of physical copies of physical originals.
