In Memory of Nike
This piece is created in memory of Nike of Samothrace at Musée du Louvre in Paris. Although the museum has been closed since mid-March, images are still being uploaded of the sculpture on Instagram. From isolation, the public is sharing images in remembrance of the public space (and art) we have been so drastically isolated from this spring. These images have been joint through photogrammetry—a process used for three-dimensional scanning—with which the public collectively build up a digital paraphrase of the original sculpture.
Material: PLA, brass, plaster
